Ensure overall compliance with state and federal regulations regarding the company's transportation and fleet operations including driver qualification files, hours of service, and DOT drug and alcohol program. Monitor changes in regulations and update policies and procedures accordingly. - Partner and select third party safety and compliance companies, where necessary, to maintain fleet regulatory compliance including driver qualification files, IFTA/IRP filings, DOT drug and alcohol testing, and training. - Identify and manage the development and implementation of comprehensive fleet safety programs and telematics to minimize accidents and injuries as well as monitor driver behavior and vehicle performance. - Leverage existing and emerging technologies that will streamline processes and increase efficiency. - Promote a positive safety culture that rewards and recognizes safe driving and working behaviors. - Oversee and implement company's accident and injury investigation process including coordination of reporting, investigation, documentation, and management. - Manage the successful adherence to FMCSA Safety Management System - Behavior Analysis and Safety Improvement Categories (BASICs). This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders, including suppliers, regulatory agencies, and internal departments, to establish and maintain robust supplier approval processes. The Manager will also execute supplier audits, assess supplier compliance with food safety standards, conduct label approvals and reviews and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.
