Job Overview:
The Operations Management Trainee program will provide an extensive training experience surrounding the areas of Safety, Quality, and Business Operations. The training rotation will last up to 2 years. Upon successful completion of the program, you will be provided an opportunity to move into a Supervisor or Manager role at one of our locations.
Key Tasks:
- Work in different departments alongside supervisors and employees to learn, understand and positively impact production operations.
- Partner with other managers to plan and direct the work of the organization.
- Analyze and understand company reports related to efficiencies, profit, and inventory activity.
- Manage daily production, yields, and downtime in assigned areas.
- Identify trends and recommend proactive or remedial actions to address operational situations.
- Understand governmental law, regulations, and company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Work with and through management to develop and implement actions, policies or procedures that protect company assets and profitability.
- Train and develop management skills while leading and motivating others.
- Interpret, apply and/or enforce company policies, programs, rules, regulations, and safety requirements in support of departmental and corporate goals.
- Actively engage in employee safety programs and activities to ensure safety in the workplace.
- Foster an environment conducive to achieving continuous improvement.
- Build strong teams and interact at all levels of the plant, including front line employees.
- Attend or lead presentations, meetings, classes, or training and create projects or presentations; take tests if applicable.
- Interact with vendors, suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders as needed.

As General Labor - Packaging, you will:
- Come to your work station with all the proper garments and utensils for production.
- Process product for packaging into machines.
- Put product in machine pocket as instructed.
- Ensure product flow is consistent to keep production operating at an efficient rate.
- Label, box, or band product as needed and record times on production sheets.
- Clean all machines, utensils, and floors by hand at end of shift.

As a Livestock Handler (Yards), you will:
- Use approved driving device and live animal scale to facilitate unloading of animals.
- Weigh and record all incoming and outgoing cattle and weights.
- Use approved driving device to move cattle from pen to pen, or pen to knock tub/chute.
- Use approved driving device to move cattle from chute into the knock box.
- Use skid loader, tractor, and paper shredder to clean and re-bed pens.

- Perform a variety of specialized tasks in a warm, hot, humid or wet environment.
- Properly use tools such as knives, hooks, or other specialized equipment.

As our Truck Driver, you will:
- Operate trucks to move semi-trailer in and out of gut room for loading.
- Operate dump trucks to remove manure products from the plant and haul to designated areas.
- Operate pay loader and skid loader to facilitate loading of trucks.
- Check and record fluid levels of trucks, pay loaders, and tractors.
- Operate tractor and disc to incorporate manure products hauled to fields.
- Log all manure loads hauled.

As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will:
- Calibrate equipment.
- Collect samples for testing.
- Accurately prepare and process daily paperwork in an organized manner.
- Perform visual line and finished product inspections to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Perform a variety of specialized tasks in altering environments.
- Place tags to hold or reject product, materials, or equipment not meeting specifications.
- Notify supervisors or other personnel of production problems or stop production if serious product defects are present.
