Long Prairie Packing, an American Foods Group Company has an opportunity for a Food Safety Coordinator position at our Long Prairie plant. As the Food Safety Coordinator your primary responsibility is to coordinate with the Production Supervisor and QA Technicians to manage all aspects of the Food Safety Program and ensuring that food safety tasks are completed in a timely manner. Your responsibilities will also involve improving food safety process and ensuring that we have all the proper documentation needed for food safety inspections/reviews.   As a Food Safety Coordinator, you will: - Oversee the daily production processes to ensure Food Safety procedures are being implemented and product integrity is maintained throughout the entire process. - Verify animal welfare weekly audit results and conduct quarterly audits to ensure maintenance of a robust Animal Welfare program - Conduct monthly GMP and Facility Audits - Conduct monthly Glass Audits - Review and Update HACCP Plans and all pre-requisite programs as often as necessary to be current with the actual process - Coordinate with the Trainers to ensure all Food Safety Topics are covered with all employees annually (line meetings conducted monthly) - Daily record review on all documents - Conduct Internal SQF Audit - Verify equipment calibration is conducted in accordance with written procedures - Review Pre-op Swab results to verify efficacy of the Cleaning and Sanitation programs. Initiate corrective action records for any Sanitation deficiencies and follow-up on corrective actions implemented to ensure effectiveness - Verify that Water Quality Testing is conducted according to established programs - Review Pest Control Reports and initiate corrective actions for any of the PC findings - Review Foreign Material program to ensure equipment maintains good operational condition and that verification tasks are completed in a timely manner - Review the Food Defense program monthly to ensure it remains current and conduct Food Defense test at least annually. - Review Transport and delivery protocols to ensure product integrity during the delivery process. - Ensure raw materials are from approved suppliers (cattle suppliers/packaging materials/processing aids) - Additional tasks may be required per management - NOTE: this description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Long Prairie Packing, LLC an American Foods Group Company has opportunities for General Production at our Long Prairie, Minnesota plant.   8-11+ hours/day, 5-6 days/week Hiring for day shift ONLY   As General Production - Harvest you will: - Perform a variety of specialized tasks in a warm, hot, humid or wet environment. - Properly use tools such as knives, hooks, or other specialized equipment. - Perform physical tasks which require upper body strength and constant repetitive movements. - Stand on hard surfaces the entire shift; use of stairs and personal protection equipment (PPE) is required in all areas of the facility. - Compliance with all food safety policies and regulations. - Adhere to all safety and housekeeping processes and procedures to ensure safety for our employees, customers and visitors. - Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Location: Will vary depending on internship position Internship Dates: Full Time for approximately 12 weeks (May – August)   The Plant Operations Internship is a hands-on internship that is heavily engaged in day-to-day production activities manufacturing millions of pounds of beef on an annual basis. You will work with experienced employees to learn all aspects of either Harvest (Barn, Hide-On, Hide-Off, and Variety Meats) or Fabrication (Boning and Packaging) while developing managerial based skills.
