Position Summary The Rendered Products & By-Products Sales Manager is directly responsible for managing sales for all American Foods Group rendered products and beef harvest by-products sales, including tallow, meat and bone meal, blood meal, hides and other by-products. The position manages the sales function, and coordinates with plant operations, traffic, credit, and claims, to ensure sales success and customer satisfaction. This position involves both domestic and international sales, including understanding of the documentation and other requirements to sell and ship products internationally. Maximized sales realizations, optimal inventory position management, value added product development, new customer development, and exemplary customer service are all key objectives for this position.   Supervisory Responsibility The position does not presently supervise positions but may take on supervisory responsibility as the role develops.      Job Duties and Responsibilities - Be an expert regarding all aspects of rendered product and by-products both domestically and internationally. Know and take advantage of current and emerging market opportunities for optimizing sales of rendered products and by-products produced by the company.  - Manage and negotiate contracts and supply agreements for by-products, rendered finished goods and raw materials from all AFG facilities. - Build relationships with current customers and build a network of potential customers for current and emerging products. - Lead and manage special projects or opportunities in rendering and by-products. - Monitor and analyze performance of product sales and report results to leadership. - Develop sales tools and strategies for sales to all applicable sales channels. - Recognize lucrative new areas and evaluate road-maps for product development to spur additional growth. - Maintain competence of market competition, trends, and activities while communicating relevant information across stakeholder teams. - Establish, build, and maintain relationships with key industry and strategic community stakeholders. - Interact with corporate, plant operations, transportation, and other sales team members to build a highly successful, focused rendered products and by-products sales function within the company.  - NOTE: this description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Travel The position will require travel up to 30% of the time for plant/customer visits.   Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, desk phones and smartphones. The position will also be required to regularly visit production facility work environments and customer locations.    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. The position requires office hours to support work across time zones a long with regular meetings and event work.
