Position Summary:
The Manager of Special Projects is responsible for organizing, leading, and helping to execute company projects related to fabrication operations in the company’s plants. The position manages projects to ensure goals are achieved on schedule and within budget expectations. Position requires travel between the Gibbon, NE, Yankton, SD, and Long Prairie, MN facilities.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor project progress throughout the project life cycle and communicate project status effectively to senior management through reports, presentations, and meetings.
- Provide input/feedback to ensure projects are on schedule and within budget.
- Lead multiple projects at one time, with limited supervision.
- Ensure projects run smoothly by assisting and coordinating with operations.
- Develop positive relationships with all parties involved in projects.
- Reduce costs and increase yields through direct involvement and delegated responsibilities.

American Foods Group, LLC has an opportunity for a Utilities Manager to join our team for our new America's Heartland Packing facility in Warren County, Missouri.
Summary:
The Utilities Manager is accountable for the supply of industrial services for the plant(refrigeration, boiler operation/hot/cold water supplies for the facility), ensuring a safe, efficient, and reliable operation/maintenance of the equipment.

Plan, organize, and oversee all utilities for the facility (Ammonia refrigeration, gas fired boilers for steam generation, compressed air, cold/140/180 water for the facility)

Compliance with all federal, state, local and internal requirements from design through operation and maintenance of the plant. Ensure employees are aware of the requirements and their responsibility.

Oversee facility PSM Program and collaborate with corporate engineering to ensure best practices are always being followed.

Ensure utilities maintenance activities are and work orders are completed in a timely manner, create and maintain records and reports as required by PSM, company or regulatory requirements.

Work closely with cross functional teams (Operations/QA/Engineering) to ensure facility needs are being met (temps/air flows/utilities etc.).

Maintain all utility departments equipment and ensure equipment is performing to high standards and in a safe manner at all times.

Provide technical guidance, direction, and develop specs for the utilities team (supervisors/techs/operators).

Ensure proper training for all refrigeration personnel i.e. operator training / PSM training, boiler personnel i.e.: boiler operator training / RMP training.

Maintain a team that is cross-functional and trained in different areas of utilities to ensure crewing changes do not impact the facility.

Establish and implement preventative maintenance programs and procedures for the utilities dept.

Requisition tools / equipment and supplies as needed (ensure critical spares are in stock at all times).

Promote and drive succession development with areas of responsibility.

American Foods Group, LLC has an opportunity for a Director of Operations - Harvest to join our team for our new America's Heartland Packing facility in Warren County, Missouri.
Summary
As the harvest lead, you will partner with leadership to understand and execute the harvest strategies as the plant ramps up. The ideal candidate is someone who wants to get in at the very start to plan and build the function for when the facility is fully operational.
- Oversee daily operations of the harvest Department (under the supervision of VP Operations).
- Manage all harvest processes (facility livestock handling, harvest, cooler, rendering, and hides); ensuring efficient, effective, and accurate operations according to customer specifications.
- Coordinate and oversee daily activities of supervisors in the harvest departments to ensure efficient production of wholesome quality products.
- Monitor and control downtime; provide solutions to reduce downtime.
- Maintain high production and quality while ensuring the safest working environment possible.
- Actively monitor food security and defense surveillance inside the facility and its operation.
- Ensure all company, safety, and food safety policies and procedures are enforced and followed (e.g. SQF, GMPs, SOPs, HACCP, OSHA).
- Monitor the cleanliness of the work areas.
- Complete reports and other paperwork (e.g. discipline, progress evaluations, terminations).
- Ensure every position is filled before starting up; ensure job rotation is followed in order to facilitate ergonomics.
- Ensure all machinery is performing to the highest standard possible.
- Maintain a helpful and professional attitude and appearance.
- Promote and drive succession development throughout areas of responsibility.
