American Foods Group, LLC has an opportunity for a Director of Operations - Harvest to join our team for our new America's Heartland Packing facility in Warren County, Missouri.   Summary As the harvest lead, you will partner with leadership to understand and execute the harvest strategies as the plant ramps up.  The ideal candidate is someone who wants to get in at the very start to plan and build the function for when the facility is fully operational.    - Oversee daily operations of the harvest Department (under the supervision of VP Operations). - Manage all harvest processes (facility livestock handling, harvest, cooler, rendering, and hides); ensuring efficient, effective, and accurate operations according to customer specifications. - Coordinate and oversee daily activities of supervisors in the harvest departments to ensure efficient production of wholesome quality products.  - Monitor and control downtime; provide solutions to reduce downtime. - Maintain high production and quality while ensuring the safest working environment possible. - Actively monitor food security and defense surveillance inside the facility and its operation. - Ensure all company, safety, and food safety policies and procedures are enforced and followed (e.g. SQF, GMPs, SOPs, HACCP, OSHA). - Monitor the cleanliness of the work areas. - Complete reports and other paperwork (e.g. discipline, progress evaluations, terminations). - Ensure every position is filled before starting up; ensure job rotation is followed in order to facilitate ergonomics. - Ensure all machinery is performing to the highest standard possible. - Maintain a helpful and professional attitude and appearance. - Promote and drive succession development throughout areas of responsibility. - NOTE: this description is not intended to be all-inclusive. American Foods Group, LLC has an opportunity for a Hides Supervisor to join the team for our new AFG manufacturing facility in Wright City, Missouri.   As our Hides Supervisor you will: - Provide leadership and oversee the day-to-day hide operations (leads and hourly production employees).  Interface routinely with peers.  Reports to Director of Operations - Harvest. - Develop and implement operational strategies to maximize productivity, efficiency, and quality in hide operations (hanging, trimming, inspecting, storing, loading hides or skins).  - Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, laws, and industry standards related to hides operations.  - Be responsible for crewing, scheduling, work quality, productivity, and employee training in assigned areas.  - Be responsible for safety and housekeeping and for proper operation of equipment.  - Accountable for ensuring that all health and safety policies and regulations are enforced, by reporting policy infractions to HR and being involved with taking appropriate disciplinary actions. Perform accident investigations.  - Participate in plant management and operational meetings and conduct line meetings.  - Conduct line meetings.  - Update, maintain, and implement documents, records, or product specifications.  - Conduct employment actions in accordance with EEO/AA guidelines (hire, selection, promotion, demotion, transfer, termination, etc.).  - Evaluate department work performance and take corrective action.
