JOB SUMMARY

 

The Culinary Strategy and Sales Director will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between culinary innovation and strategic sales within our food service team. This dual-focused position requires a dynamic individual who is both passionate about culinary arts and adept in sales strategies. The ideal candidate will initiate and execute culinary strategies that enhance product offering, meeting customer needs while maximizing revenue opportunities.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Culinary Thought Leadership
    • Spearhead the creation and execution of culinary strategies that align with current market trends and customer preferences, ensuring a competitive advantage.
    • Conduct research and analysis on food trends, customer preferences, and competitive offerings to guide product development and menu innovations.
  • Sales Management
    • Directly engage with customers to understand their needs; provide tailored culinary solutions driving growth.
    • Support customer innovation sessions and co-creation initiatives.
    • Serve as primary contact for key customers, providing menu ideation, tasting presentations, and
    • strategic input.
    • Engage regularly with key customers to facilitate productive culinary dialogue that strengthens business partnerships and creates new business opportunities.
    • Display excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
    • Manage and execute business plans to consistently deliver volume and net sales targets, as well as
    • annual Key Performance Indicator (KPIs) objectives covering direct and broker selling efforts.
    • Maximize  revenue  of  new  business  opportunities  with  fact-based  market  centric  pricing intelligence.
  • Collaborative Engagement
    • Work closely with marketing, R&D, product management and operations teams to align and integrate culinary strategies into broader business initiatives, enhancing overall product alignment in the marketplace.
    • Serve as a bridge between the customer and organization, ensuring effective communication.
    • Work to design and showcase innovate culinary products and solutions, ensuring they are feasible
    • for operational use and meet customer insights.
    • Provide guidance and support in developing culinary-focused sales presentations and proposals to enhance customer engagement and business success.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create on-trend, unique menu solutions that elevate the overall culinary experience.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in culinary arts, Food Science, or related field.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS

  • Demonstrated success in culinary management and foodservice sales, with a strong understanding of culinary trends and customer engagement strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively translating culinary concepts into impactful sales presentations.
  • Ability to interpret data and market insights to shape strategic direction.
  • Creative and innovative thinker with a passion for culinary excellence and a commitment to achieving sales objectives.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time – to facilities and customers (domestic).
