Accountant I (GBD)

Green Bay Dressed Beef, LLC., an American Foods Group Company, has an opportunity for an Accountant to join our dynamic Accounting team at our Acme Street plant in Green Bay, WI. In this role, you will assist the Controller and Assistant Controller with financial activities for the plant location to include areas such as yields, product costing, payroll, cattle procurement, accounts payable, general ledger activities, and financial statement creation. You will be involved in activities and expense review to provide the organization with accurate information.

As our Accountant, you will:

• Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements and reports.
• Understand and support operations in various reporting requirements.
• Coordinate accounting matters with other departments, locations, and divisions.
• Prepare monthly J/E’s.
• Work on Monthly Account Reconciliations.
• Assist in continuous improvement of information quality.
• Demonstrate high attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness.
• Demonstrate the desire to grow and take on new challenges and opportunities.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
• Must have strong computer skills (Microsoft Office:  Word, Excel, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of experience working in accounting.
• Previous accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Time management and organizational skills:  flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and assignments.
• Analytical skills: ability to address problems involving several variables in standardized situations; ability to review and compare data to identify inconsistencies and determine priorities.
• Effective communication skills: ability to speak and write with employees at all levels across the organization.
• Ability to perform duties with minimal direction.
