Overview

Job Summary
The Production Supervisor will be responsible for directing, controlling, and coordinating a team of individuals to create a positive work environment with high morale. Developing good working relationships which reflects a commitment to safety (human & food), along with product quality, while maintaining constructive relations through company values and behaviors in action.

 

Training / leadership development

  • Conduct line meetings
  • Promote and drive succession development within area of responsibility
  • Encourage professional team building
  • Oversee employee training in assigned area(s)

Supervisory functions

  • Participate in operational meetings
  • Evaluate departmental work performance and take corrective actions as necessary
  • Use Kronos reporting information to establish crewing shortages
  • Scheduling (communicating with employees on tasks that need to be completed)
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to maximize productivity, efficiency, and produce a quality product
  • Troubleshoot areas to minimize downtime during production

Safety & Quality assurance

  • Perform SQF checks in area of responsibility to assure all assignments are being completed
  • Constantly monitor department for cleanliness / housekeeping
  • Ensure that product contamination is kept to a minimum
  • Conduct job specific training to guarantee the proper operation of equipment
  • Follow and monitor proper safety equipment usage and safety practices
  • Perform thorough accident investigations as necessary
  • Holding monthly safety meetings and group discussions to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, laws, and industry standards

Administrative duties

  • Reporting policy infractions and being involved with taking the appropriate disciplinary steps
  • Issue disciplinary action in accordance with company standard practices and procedures
  • Verify labor hours (Kronos) to ensure all department crewing and payroll report accuracy

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • 3-5 years proven supervisory experience working in FAB
  • Demonstrate knowledge of FAB operations (yield / quality grades, carcass anatomy, etc.)
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English (speaking, reading, and writing)
  • Extensive traveling which may include extended stays at plant sites

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or GED.
  • Post high school education, associate, or bachelor’s degree.
  • Bi-lingual (speaking, reading, and writing). Fluency in Spanish, Karenni, French, & Creole is highly preferred.

  • Good computer skills: ability to use designated programs including Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Display a strong work ethic and a professional attitude and appearance
  • Ability to overcome reasonable obstacles
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Must be assertive and be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to perform consistent, accurate work with minimal direction while working successfully as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Summary

America's Heartland Packing is set to open its doors in early 2025. The 775,000 sq. ft. greenfield project will include a harvest floor, carcass chillers, fabrication area, rendering, further processing area, storage coolers, freezers, and loading docks.
