Overview

Green Bay Dressed Beef, LLC., an American Foods Group Company, has opportunities for an Electrician I at our Acme Street plant in Green Bay, WI .

 

As an Electrician I, you will:

  • Use basic hand and power tools (i.e. band saws, multi-meter, and other tools) to operate all assigned electrical and mechanical equipment for the purpose of troubleshooting, repair, preventative maintenance also conducts tests of installed/repaired equipment/machinery and makes final adjustments.
  • Identify all parts, supplies, and services required to maintain equipment in assigned area and competes work orders in a timely manner meeting or exceeding pre-established deadlines to reduce downtime and meet production goals.
  • Plan layout, install, maintain, diagnose, troubleshoot, dissemble, refit, repair, and/or rebuild electrical equipment, systems, and machines including automatic and process controls, switch boards, HMI, control center and panels, relays, circuit breakers electronic control, printers, and scales (portable, floor, and matrix-hot/cold).
  • Perform maintenance and understand 110, 220, 480-volt single phase, three phases, controls, motor circuits and drive systems.
  • Under supervision, installs, maintains repairs and/or rebuilds complicated machines and plant equipment.
  • Assemble, install or repair plumbing (e.g. threading pipe), equipment or machinery to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of an establishment in repair. 
  • Perform basic welding (e.g. primarily tig; some mig and stick). Ability to identify good and bad welds.
  • Advise management on continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
  • Complete necessary paperwork (PM sheets, work orders, etc.) and keep records of repairs and replacements made and causes of malfunctions.
  • Assist with repairs and/or maintenance at Northland or Cold Storage.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of work temperatures warm, hot, humid, cold, wet or with slippery surfaces at varied heights in and around moving equipment and parts with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). 

  • Must be able to perform the job duties with or without reasonable accommodations. 

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3 years of experience in the electrical trade in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have valid driver’s license to drive between facilities.
  • Must be able to pass written Electrical test.
  • Ability to work extended scheduled hours Monday through Saturday with daily overtime. Must be able to work overtime as required. Start times and hours vary based on production needs.
  • Must be able to successfully complete training:
    • Safety.
    • Safe Quality Food (SQF).
    • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
    • Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP).
    • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
    • Food defense.
    • Forklift.
    • Lock out/Tag out.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior maintenance experience in a USDA inspected beef, pork, or poultry facility.
  • Prior production experience.
  • Work history in the last 12 months.
