Position: Foodservice Sales Manager

Working Location: United States (Remote)

Territory: Eastern United States

Job Summary

Play a critical role in driving foodservice revenue growth and ensuring overall customer satisfaction and long-term success.  You will be responsible for understanding customers’ needs, maintaining and building strong relationships, communicating effectively, and coordinating with various internal teams to deliver exceptional service and solutions. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Drive for Results

  • Manage and execute business plans to consistently deliver volume and net sales targets, as well as annual Key Performance Indicator (KPIs) objectives covering direct and broker selling efforts.

Market Planning & Customer Prioritization

  • Grow territory via strategies and business plans that align with AFG objectives.
  • Work closely with internal teams, such as marketing, product management and R&D, to deliver solutions that meet customer needs.

Customer Engagement

  • Improve the strength of relationships with strategic customers to create long term value and new business opportunities.
  • Understand customers’ goals, needs, and challenges to provide tailored solutions.
  • Serve as a bridge between the customer and organization, ensuring effective communication.
  • Regularly update customers on project progress and other relevant information.
  • Provide regular reports and insights to customers on their performance.
  • Display excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills.

Category Development  

  • Work with marketing team to craft compelling total category growth plans that drive value-add growth for Distributors and Operators in alignment with team objectives.
  • Explore opportunities to expand into new market segments within the region. Evaluate market demand and competition, to assess feasibility and mitigate risks associated with initiatives.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitors to provide valuable insights to customers.

Field Execution

  • Actively engage with Brokers and Distributors to cultivate a strong presence, including participation in food shows, industry trade events, broker sales meetings and trainings and culinary innovation sessions.

Revenue Management

  • Drive to achieve the most profitable sales opportunities in the marketplace.
  • Build structured approaches with internal teams to identify revenue opportunities on pricing, trade, and upsell/cross-sell initiatives.
  • Maximize revenue of new business opportunities with fact based market centric pricing intelligence.
  • Create and execute strategy to expand Foodservice distributor network, including optimizing contract terms for profitable business model.

Talent Development

  • Instill a culture of accountability, performance, and teamwork with broker sales reps to drive growth.

Operational Excellence

  • Forecast product demand for geographic area, maintain broker contracts and maintain customer files.
  • Ensure projects are executed on time.
  • Address customer concerns or issues promptly and efficiently
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of services provided.
  • Provide regular reports and insights to customers on their account's performance.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience in Foodservice account management and negotiation.
  • Center of the plate and protein sales experience
  • Ability to travel as required.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to organize and execute product cutting for customers.
  • Ability to multi-task while remaining customer focused.
  • Highly motivated; self-starter.
